purchased Amana in 2001. Now filters for Maytag and Amana refrigerators
come from the same place. They are still very different though. The UKF7003AXX,
UKF8001AXX and 12527304 (the most popular from filters from either camp)
are very easy to distinguish.

Amana water filter (12527304) cartridge is the replacement for part numbers
12388401, 12527305 and 9014. It is located in the back of the refrigerator
compartment and removes most chlorine, lead, odor and taste. This filter
is the correct replacement for Sears/Kenmore refrigerators where the model
number begins wiht "596".
